Meet the Founder
My awareness of the animal welfare crisis in the United States began after adopting my first dog, Vinny. Before this experience, I was unaware of the widespread practice of animal euthanasia within the country. Having resided on Long Island, NY, where stray animals are relatively uncommon compared to other regions, I had limited direct exposure to these challenges. After Vinny’s adoption, I became informed about “high kill shelters” and the euthanasia procedures utilized nationwide. This insight prompted a commitment to contribute positively to animal welfare. Over the following eleven years, I fostered fourteen animals, engaged in international rescue initiatives, and provided financial assistance to various animal welfare organizations. Nevertheless, I recognized the importance of addressing the fundamental issue through spay and neuter programs, education and collaboration. Americas’ Animal Fund embodies this principle.
